Statement of faith
When asked, “What do you believe?” it’s tempting to hand someone the Bible and say “This is what I believe.” However, for those not familiar with the Christian faith, it may be helpful to identify foundational truths taught in Scripture that guide my beliefs and practice:
I believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
I believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious death and atonement through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal and visible return in power and glory.
I believe the only terms of salvation that we may proclaim are those expressed in the New Testament; faith, repentance, confession of faith in Jesus Christ, and baptism by immersion in water for the remission of sins and for the promised presence of the Holy Spirit.
I believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life, and by whom the church is empowered to carry out Christ’s Great Commission.
“My mission is to provide Christian counseling and transformative life coaching rooted in biblical truth to promote wellness and a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.”
Faith- “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Heb 11:6)
Joy- “You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.” (Psa. 16:11)
Love- “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect harmony.” (Col. 3:14)
Obedience- “Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.” (1 Jn. 5:3-4)
Rest- Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Mt. 11:30)
Self-discovery- “…Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (2 Cor. 5:17)
